Children’s Programs

Our preschool education focus is the message that "Firefighters Are Our Helper." This lesson is designed to ease fears and empower children to call 911 or call out to their rescuers (their "helpers") to come get them (rather than hiding from the stranger in the mask.)

Throughout the year, Petersburg Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Services will host a "Fire Prevention for PreSchool Providers" that focuses on lessons providers can use in their facilities.  For additional information, contact the Public Fire and Life Safety Educator at (804) 733-2328 .

 Please Note: 

Petersburg Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Management does NOT host or attend birthday parties. Educational station tours for children may be scheduled by parents or teachers for groups of children.
