City Employees weighed in to shed pounds by eating healthy, exercising and participating in wellness seminars. “A healthy workforce leads to a more productive workforce, and a decrease in health insurance premiums,” says City Manager William E. Johnson III. “The goal is for city employees to chart the course for all Petersburg citizens to live a healthier life.” In three months, thirty city employees lost over 260 pounds, reduced waist size by 15.5 inches, body fat by 12.9% and body mass by 15.1%.
The Biggest Healthy Loser winner....Tricia Everetts, City of Petersburg Social Services Department, was recognized at City Council on April 1 with a $1,000 check and a day off. The 1st place winner Laura Clayborn, City of Petersburg Area Transit and the 2nd place winner Gerald Brown, City of Petersburg Code Compliance Division will receive a $200 reward. All participating employees will receive a T-shirt.
The City will launch the 2nd Biggest Healthy Loser Campaign this summer. Petersburg residents are encouraged to participate. For additional information call 804-733-2394.
