Other features of the updates class and compensation plan include: eliminating the step pay plan structure and creating an open range pay plan structure, create two pay plan structures for general employees and all sworn (police and fire) employees and revise and update all of the city’s job descriptions to reflect the actual duties and responsibilities that are being performed and to rank and place each job in the new compensation system.
