The City of Petersburg hosted the inaugural Hispanic Cultural Celebration at the Old Towne Train Station on Sunday, November 1. The free event was filled with fun, music, culture, crafts, ethnic foods, dance performances, classes, information booths and lots of entertainment.
“The event was an great way to celebrate the Hispanic culture in the Petersburg community and recognize the contribution of the heritage and culture to the fabric and culture of Petersburg,” comments William E. Johnson, III, City Manager.
The event was hosted Ponce Ferguson and music by DJ Peluche Productions. The City also welcomed the special attendance of Miss Hispanidad.
Special performances were by Panama Folklore RVA, Ballet Folklorico las Adelitas, VSU Benita Brown Dance Group, Claves Unidos, Radio Poder, Los Viejitos. The Mexican Aztec group, Tlatlacoyolotl, gave a grand presentation and dance performance.
