[ARCHIVED] City Council Issues Statement on Actions During City Council Session

City Council has the responsibility to represent the City positively and be outstanding stewards of public service for our residents. Last night, there was a breach of protocol involving an alleged personnel matter. These matters are reserved exclusively for closed session to preserve and protect the confidentiality of the involved party.

This is especially the case here, where Mr. Brian Telfair, our City Attorney, has provided outstanding service to the City. The actions that took place last night was an unnecessary distraction from City business.

City Council appreciates the service of Mr. Telfair and all actions moving forward, if any, are considered personnel matters and will be handled privately. We apologize to Mr. Telfair and the public for this unnecessary distraction from City business.
