Petersburg Announces Temporary Closure and Relocation of Customer Care & Collections, and the Commissioner of the Revenue Offices

The City of Petersburg Customer Care & Collections Department will be closed on Monday, October 7, and Tuesday, October 8. Starting Wednesday, October 9, the Department will temporarily operate from the first floor of City Hall at 135 N. Union Street. This move is required by renovations at the current Sycamore Street location to improve service to the community.

The Commissioner of the Revenues office will also be closed until further notice during this period. Residents and businesses needing assistance from this office can email corteam@petersburg-va.org.

To minimize disruption, the City of Petersburg encourages using its online payment system, available daily from 4:00 am to 11:00 pm at: https://www.petersburgva.com/Applications/cpage/Default.aspx?ctid=1. Credit and debit card payments will incur a 3% processing fee, while electronic checks can be processed without additional charges.

Alternative payment options include using the Dropbox at 144 N. Sycamore Street, where all submissions will be collected and processed on the next business day, or mailing payments to P.O. Box 1271, Petersburg, VA 23804.

For payment-related inquiries, please contact the City Collector’s office at CityCollector@petersburg-va.org or call 804-733-2346. For questions about online payments, contact the Treasurer’s office at treasurer@petersburg-va.org or call 804-733-2322.

The City of Petersburg sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this temporary relocation may cause and appreciates the community’s understanding and cooperation.
