On February 11, 2022 over 20,000 delinquency notices and over 34,000 personal property tax bills for the first half of 2022 were mailed to City of Petersburg residents. One and half percent of delinquency notices inadvertently included 3rd quarter real estate taxes that are due March 31, 2022 and 4th quarter real estate taxes that are due June 30, 2022. All other delinquencies listed on your notice can be addressed by the Department of Collections at billingandcollections@petersburg-va.org or (804) 733-2349.
Please take note of delayed delivery times by the United States Postal Service as we are being alerted that some residents are receiving their notice after clearing their accounts. The delinquency notices include outstanding personal property and real estate taxes prior to 12/31/2021. If you have already addressed your account prior to receiving a notice, please disregard. To reassure the community, any payments post marked by February 28, 2022 that are received by mail after the due date will be considered on time.
