snow closing and delays 640

Petersburg City Government offices are closing at 1pm today. There will be a 2-hour delay in City Government offices opening on Tuesday, January 4. Petersburg Courts are closing at 11am today.

Petersburg Area Transit will continue operating today pending street conditions. Bus service will be delayed by 2-hours on Tuesday morning.

The Petersburg Emergency Management team is continuing to monitor weather conditions. Public Works road crews are treating City streets and will continue to do so through the afternoon and night. Bridges and primary roads are being treated first. Police and Fire will also be monitoring road conditions.

The City is asking citizens to stay off the roads during the storm if possible. Road crews are better able to cover streets with less traffic. Residents are also asked to use off-street parking when available.

Power outages should be reported to Dominion Energy at 1-866-366-4357. As always in an emergency call 911.

Petersburg will post updated information on the City website @, Facebook @cityofpetersburgva, Twitter @petersburgV and Instagram @petersburg_va.
