The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews will close all southbound lanes on I-95 at Washington St./Business Rt. 460 (mile marker 52) in Petersburg from 10 p.m. Saturday, March 5 to 9 a.m. Sunday, March 6 for bridge repairs following a vehicle strike in August 2015. Southbound traffic will be diverted to the off and on ramps at Washington St./Exit 52 to bypass the work zone. Repairs began early last week and will continue weeknights through March.
Diverted traffic will use Exit 52 to cross Washington St. back to I-95 south. Southbound through traffic can use I-295 south as an alternate route.
All lanes on Washington St./Business Rt. 460 will also be closed from 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday. Drivers should follow the posted local detour.
