City of Petersburg Government Offices Delayed Opening
Due to ice and below-freezing temperatures, the City of Petersburg Government offices will open at 10:30 am on Wednesday, January 28.
Employee Reporting:
· Essential employees must report on their regular schedule.
· Liberal leave and virtual work are in effect for non-essential personnel.
Service Changes and Closures:
· No bus service on Wednesday.
· Bus Service is expected to resume on Thursday, January 29, only on primary roads.
· The Comfort Station at Petersburg Area Transit will remain open 24 hours until further notice.
Courts:
· All Courts and the Sheriff’s Office will be CLOSED on Wednesday, January 28.
Trash Collection:
· Meridian Waste will begin collecting trash on cleared roadways on Wednesday. Please expect trash service to remain behind schedule for the remainder of the week.
Safety and Road Conditions:
· Petersburg Public Works crews are continuing to treat roads, while the Police and Fire Departments monitor conditions.
· Primary roads are clear, but icy spots remain.
· Stay off the roads if possible to allow crews to continue to clear side streets efficiently.
· Utilize off-street parking.
