The mission of the Procurement Office is to support the City's highest priorities by developing and managing a preferred supply base that best allocates the city’s resources with the focus of, and in the interests of constituents both internal and external.  The Procurement Office develops innovative solutions to conducting the purchasing function in a manner which results in the most efficient and effective use of City funds.  

Vision

The Procurement Office’s vision is to provide the overall management of the acquisition of goods, services, insurance, and construction, controlled by the requisition, and purchase order processes in compliance with all state and federal guidelines. The Office of Procurement issues solicitations tailored to meet each of the department’s needs. The Procurement Office will serve in the best interest of the City in our overall procurement practices. The Office acts ethically with integrity, discretion, honesty and with a high level of professionalism.

Public Auctions 

City of Petersburg vehicles that are removed from service and declared surplus are sold through GovDeals, an internet-based auction sales firm. The internet address is www.govdeals.com. Items sold by the City can be located by doing an advance search by seller.
