Recycling
The City pays for four multiple material drop-off locations.
- Cameron Field, Sycamore St. and Mt. Vernon St. (Map)
- Petersburg High School, Homestead Dr. (Map)
- Albert Jones Sports Complex, Augusta Ave. (Map)
- Ukrop’s Parking Lot, South Crater Square Shopping Center (Map)

The following items are ACCEPTED:
newspapers, mixed paper, glass bottles and jars, aluminum and steel cans, #1 and #2 plastic bottles and jars.
The following items are NOT to be placed in the recycle bins:
- No plastic bags of any kind. Recycle these at participating grocery stores.
- No Styrofoam items.
- No plastic food trays/containers.
- No plastic windows and liner bags from dry food boxes.
- No plastic OTHER THAN narrow-neck plastic bottles with PETE or HDPE printed on bottles.
- No plastic bottles that have contained petroleum
