DUTIES: Performs responsible technical work on an assigned shift dispatching police, fire and rescue equipment and personnel usually in response to emergency situations; does related work as required. QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, including or supplemented by courses in typing and keypunch. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of or ability to obtain State Dispatcher Certification. State Dispatcher Certification must be obtained within 1 year from the date of employment. Failure to obtain the State Dispatcher Certification will result in termination. SPECIAL NOTICES: Final applicants will be required to submit to a criminal history investigation and submit to urinalysis screening for illegal drug use. Employees in this position are subject to random drug testing. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work in an office environment. Ability to sit and be attentive for long periods of time.
