JOB DESCRIPTION: Interviews clients to assess needs; develops service plans to meet the needs of clients; provides services for a caseload of customers; establishes contacts with the eligibility, State and community organizations as needed to meet clients' needs; participates on committees and teams as needed to plan services, etc; investigates allegations of neglect and/or abuse of children and/or elderly and disabled adults; participates in court proceedings as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a Bachelor's Degree in a human services field or a Bachelor's Degree in any field accompanied by a minimum of two (2) years related experience in a Human Services area.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of social work principles and practices; knowledge of human behavior and knowledge of how social, economic, health and cultural factors affect client and family situations; knowledge of relevant community and public resources; ability to respond to clients' emotions. Ability to interpret laws, policies and regulations; ability to make and implement case decisions. Must be able to organize/prioritize work and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Demonstrated computer literacy, preferably in Microsoft and OASIS software.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
