DUTIES: Performs responsible technical work in the enforcement of the City's minimum housing codes; does related work as required. QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, supplemented by college level courses in construction, engineering, architecture or related field, and considerable experience in home construction maintenance and/or repair. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a valid appropriate Driver's License issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand, stoop, climb and walk in structurally unsound buildings or in areas of limited access. Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment. SPECIAL NOTICES: Final applicants will be required to submit an updated DMV driving record, submit to a full criminal history investigation and submit to urinalysis screening for illegal drug use.
