DUTIES: Performs difficult professional and technical work in the appraising of real property for assessment purposes; does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision of the City Assessor. Supervision may be exercised over clerical employees. QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in real estate, business, information technology or economics; and experience which proves understanding of appraisal principles, theories, methods and techniques. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with employees, City officials and the public; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a valid appropriate driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand, stoop, climb, and walk in structurally unsound buildings or in areas of limited access.
