Responsibilities of the Division

Water
Has an obligation to deliver clean quality drinking water to the 12,000 customer accounts in which is being served. This means that we deliver on average a total amount of 6 million gallons a day.

Sanitary Sewer
We collect approximately 5 million gallons per day from the same. In addition to our normal customers, we do wholesale delivery and collection from neighboring jurisdictions (Prince George County, Dinwiddie County, Chesterfield County, and Fort. Lee).

Distribution & Collection Systems
The distribution and collection systems are comprised of 1400 miles of pipe (ranging in size from 24 inches in diameter to as small as two inches in diameter pipelines), three elevated and three ground storage tanks, two water and 19 sanitary sewer pump stations, and approximately 1300 fire hydrants.
